WFA Awarded IRS 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization Status!!
What is a 501(c)(3)?
A 501(c)(3) is a determination from the IRS that an organization is a non-profit and therefore exempt from federal taxes. Donors who would like to deduct their gifts (e.g., receipts for donations over $250) on their income taxes may only do so if the organization they support is tax-exempt. To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, none of an organization’s earnings may benefit any private shareholder or individual. In addition, the organization may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates.
What does this mean to Waupun Fine Arts?
This will be a significant tool for Waupun Fine Arts, Inc., as it seeks funding from local supporters, who may now deduct their contributions. It should also open other funding sources, as 501(c)(3) status is almost always a prerequisite when applying for grants or support from corporate donors or foundations. Our new 501(c)(3) status hails a whole new era for Waupun Fine Arts, Inc!
NEW! You can now click the DONATE button below to make a SECURE ONLINE credit card donation to Waupun Fine Arts! We will mail a receipt to you for use in preparing your taxes.
